The Houses

Highland Park has three house types: Ossian, Fingal & Glenogle. They are arranged around a central, professionally landscaped courtyard. All the houses have outstanding specifications and special features in keeping with the anticipated lifestyles and needs of the homeowners and their guests. Views from the houses vary, including woodland, mountain & pastoral, depending on their respective locations. Importantly, the terraced layout of the development creates a welcome sense of community and security.

The Building Exteriors
The thoughtful combination of stone, wood & render exterior finishes and dramatic elevations of the houses preserve the architectural heritage of the site. At the same time, they evoke a fresh contemporary styling to keep the houses at the forefront of design for years to come. Notably, Highland Park was chosen as a Finalist for Small Development of the Year in the prestigious 2015 Scottish Home Awards, which was even more impressive given the early stage of its construction at that time.

The House Layouts
All the houses are 2-bedroom and 2-bath, plus a large downstairs wc. The layouts of the houses specifically have been designed for energy efficiency, to maximise actual useable space and to provide an appealing, comfortable and flexible living environment. For example, hallways have been kept to a minimum and stairwell locations & dimensions also have been thoughtfully designed to minimise encroachment into the living spaces (while still able to accommodate stair lifts).

The Kitchens
Kitchen cabinetry has been designed to balance requirements for storage space and working surfaces. Gas hobs & electric ovens, favoured by chefs and bakers, are featured. Dishwashers and full size refrigerators are provided in all houses to meet family needs. Space for clothes washers & tumble driers has been left out of the kitchens, in favour of a more convenient, separate cupboard off the entry hallway.

The Bathrooms
The bathrooms were designed from the outset to be special. On the First Floor, there is a very spacious Ensuite bathroom to the Master Bedroom that features a double “Jack & Jill” wash basin, a thermostatic walk-in shower and space for a chest of drawers (or other furniture) for storage. There also is a large Family Bathroom, which in some houses feature a full-size P-Shaped bath with electric shower and, in the others, a full-size bath and electric walk-in shower. On the Ground Floor of all houses, there is a large wc that can be used as a cloak room.

Extra Touches
All the houses feature efficient LED lighting throughout and generous numbers and convenient locations of power points. A router shelf and power points are provided in the under-stairs cupboard to keep them handy but out of sight. Quality floor coverings and window treatments are already installed and included in the sales price. Communal satellite TV dishes and terrestrial aerials are connected to all houses, including connections in the lounge and both bedrooms.

Throughout the houses, consideration has been given to creating internal storage spaces wherever possible. In addition, each house has a dedicated, secure external storage locker (‘Sports Store’) conveniently located adjacent to the car park for sporting equipment and other outsized items (including up to 4 bicycles).

The Grounds
The gardens are designed and planted to provide year-round colour and interest, while at the same time to be relatively ‘low maintenance’. The brickwork walls and handrails on the ramps were designed to be architecturally pleasing as well as functional. Even the combination of tarmac and pavoir paving on the car park was designed to blend with the overall “look” of the development.

The Ground Floors consist of:

  • A spacious lounge with an open-plan kitchen-dining area with fully fitted out modern kitchen units and Zanussi integrated appliances (including full-size fridge/freezer). Provision is included for fitting full-size clothes washer & tumble dryer.
  • A very spacious WC that can be configured as either a cloakroom, utility or shower room.
  • An under-stair storage cupboard with Wi-Fi router shelf, power & BT points.

The First Floors consist of
